New Tata Tiago And Tiago EV Exterior Design Officially Revealed
Tata Motors has officially teased the new Tiago and Tiago EV ahead of their launch with redesigned styling, updated features and improved safety tech.
Tata Motors has officially revealed the exterior design of the upcoming Tiago and Tiago EV through a new teaser video ahead of their launch on May 28. The updated hatchbacks receive major styling revisions, new features and several design changes aimed at giving the Tiago lineup a more modern and premium appearance.
The latest teaser reveals that Tata has significantly redesigned the front fascia of both the Tiago and Tiago EV. The standard petrol-powered Tiago now features a new gloss black grille, slimmer rectangular LED headlamps and a larger lower air dam that gives the hatchback a sharper and sportier road presence.
The bumper also gets vertically positioned air vents designed to improve aerodynamics, along with LED fog lamps housed inside black surrounds.
The Tiago EV, meanwhile, adopts a slightly different identity compared to the ICE-powered version. The electric hatchback gets a fully body-coloured front fascia including the grille and bumper area, helping distinguish it visually from the standard petrol model.
The EV version also receives a smaller lower air intake with vertical slats and misses out on fog lamps.
From the side profile, Tata has retained the overall proportions of the Tiago while introducing new dual-tone alloy wheels for a fresher appearance. The hatchback now also gets body cladding around the wheel arches to enhance its SUV-inspired styling.
The Tiago EV additionally features aerodynamic inserts on the alloy wheels to improve airflow efficiency and range optimization.
At the rear, both models now get a new connected LED tail lamp setup along with a revised tailgate design. The bumper has also been redesigned and now features a black applique section housing the number plate along with vertically positioned reflectors.
Additional styling highlights include a shark-fin antenna and a roof-mounted spoiler finished in black.
Interestingly, Tata has kept the rear design of the Tiago EV almost identical to the ICE-powered Tiago. The absence of an exhaust outlet and EV badging remain the primary visual differentiators between the two models from the rear.
The teaser also confirms the introduction of new colour options including a bright red shade and a light green finish for the EV version.
While the company has not officially revealed the cabin yet, the teaser confirms a new free-standing digital instrument cluster and redesigned seats with integrated headrests.
In terms of features, the updated Tiago and Tiago EV are expected to receive a larger touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, ventilated front seats and a 360-degree camera system.
Safety equipment is also expected to see a major upgrade with the addition of 6 airbags alongside existing features such as electronic stability control, hill hold control, tyre pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX child seat mounts and rear parking sensors.
Mechanically, the standard Tata Tiago is expected to continue with the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine along with an optional factory-fitted dual-cylinder CNG setup.
The Tiago EV, on the other hand, is expected to receive updated battery packs with improved driving range, faster DC charging capability and potentially a more powerful electric motor setup.
Tata Motors has confirmed that both hatchbacks will officially launch on May 28. The updated Tiago is expected to be priced from around Rs 4.50 lakh, while the Tiago EV could start from approximately Rs 8 lakh ex-showroom.
