Tata Sierra EV Launch Expected in May 2026
Tata Motors is set to launch the Sierra EV soon, with dual battery options, AWD setup and premium triple-screen interior.
The all-new Tata Sierra has only recently gone on sale, but Tata Motors is already preparing to expand the lineup with its pure-electric version – the Sierra.ev. According to the latest reports, the electric SUV is expected to be launched in May 2026.
The Sierra.ev will play a crucial role in Tata’s expanding EV portfolio and is likely to sit below the Harrier EV in the brand’s electric SUV lineup.
Battery, Range & Drivetrain
Tata is expected to offer the Sierra.ev with two battery pack options, catering to different price points and range requirements. Higher variants are likely to feature a dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) setup, delivering improved performance and better traction.
In addition, Tata may introduce a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option. This will allow customers to reduce the upfront cost of the vehicle by opting for a battery subscription model, making the Sierra.ev more accessible.
Design & Exterior
In terms of styling, the Sierra.ev will closely resemble its ICE counterpart. However, it will get subtle EV-specific changes, including a blanked-off front grille, giving it a cleaner and more futuristic look.
The SUV will continue to feature the signature split headlamp setup along with a full-width LED light bar, maintaining its bold and modern design identity.
Interior & Features
The cabin layout is expected to be largely shared with the ICE Sierra. Lower variants will come with a dual-screen setup, while top-spec versions could feature a triple-screen layout, enhancing the premium appeal.
The interior is likely to focus on a tech-loaded experience, with connected features, advanced infotainment, and a modern dashboard layout.
Expected Price & Rivals
The Tata Sierra.ev will be positioned below the Harrier EV, making it a more accessible option in Tata’s electric SUV range.
Once launched, it will compete with:
Hyundai Creta Electric
Maruti e Vitara
Mahindra BE 6
With strong design appeal, multiple battery options, and Tata’s growing EV ecosystem, the Sierra.ev could emerge as a strong contender in India’s premium electric SUV segment.
